Hatchwells Easter Egg for Dogs

1. Dog-Friendly Easter Egg

Rosewood

Let your dog enjoy a traditional tasty treat with the rest of the family this Easter.

Rosewood's popular Easter Egg for Dogs is made with carob, the dog-friendly alternative to chocolate. It's also a wheat and gluten free recipe so an ideal treat for those dogs with sensitive stomachs.

As human chocolate is poisonous to dogs, this carob egg is the perfect dog safe treat option this Easter.

Beautifully presented in traditional foil. Available on Amazon, alternatively Pets at Home offer a range of Dog Easter Eggs - if you need a last minute pup gift !

Collar Club Easter Box

2. Carrot Snuffle Dog Toy

HICAS

Our first Easter dog gift idea is this adorable snuffle garden from HICAS. A very engaging hide-and-seek puzzle toy, there are a total of 12 miniature carrots to retrieve from the field. A simple but engaging boredom buster.

Entice your dog further by placing small treats in the holes before replacing the carrots. The garden measures 35cm x 35cm so is suitable for most breeds.

Whilst this toy will stand up to repeated play, we would suggest monitoring play and we wouldn't recommend it for aggressive chewers.

Fetch Club Natural Dog Treat Box

3. Dog Treat Box

Fetch Club

If you are looking for something great value and highly nutritious, without all the nasties which you normally find in supermarket treats, natural dog treats are a great option.

Not only are they a healthier alternative for our dogs but they taste better too. As they are dried, they have the benefit of being convenient with a long shelf life, without compromising on the health benefits.

Importantly, the Fetch Club range is sourced from UK suppliers and includes some familiar favourites such as yak bars and pigs ears alongside some more unusual offerings like ducks feet and rabbit ears.

If you fancy dipping your toe in the water but are unsure what to choose, a perfect place to start is their mixed treat boxes which include a handpicked variety of treats.

Fetch Club offer three sizes of treat box - Mini, Midi and Maxi and they are available as a one-off purchase or on subscription (with a 15% saving).

Jolly Egg Tough Dog Toy

7. Jolly Egg Tough Dog Toy

Jolly Pets

Dogs don’t need to be big or powerful to destroy their toys. Aggressive chewers can leave an unsuspecting dog toy completely mangled in minutes if they put their mind to it.

So if you're looking for a tough toy that can withstand some heavy play and is actually fun, take a look at The Jolly Egg.

Made in the USA, this oval shaped toy is designed to constantly and erratically move, so your dog can never quite get a grip but loves to chase it.

Since the toy constantly escapes your dog, it gives your dog a safe, fun outlet for their prey instinct. Available in red or yellow in two sizes.

Kong dog toy

9. Plush Dog Toy

Kong Squeaky Dog Toy

This gorgeous yellow duck soft toy is an ideal gift for that dog or puppy in your life this Easter.

From the well known Kong range of dog toys, this particular toy is small, measuring 9.5 cm x 6.5cm and has no filling so it's an ideal soft toy for puppies.

The duck should easily catch your dog's attention with a squeaker hidden inside. We love that it comes with a second replacement squeaker.

It's worth noting that although it's super soft it's more durable than the standard soft dog toy.

Probably not recommended if you have an aggressive chewer in the house and as with all dog toys, monitor their play and remove if it becomes damaged.

Admittedly they are not Easter themed, but we wanted to include a chew toy suitable for those aggressive chewers out there.

Dogs & Chocolate

Lastly, and we would be totally remiss not to mention it, can we just offer some advice on dogs and chocolate.

According to data from the Kennel Club, incidents of canine chocolate poisoning more than double over the Easter period when compared with other months even Christmas.

dog at vets after eating Easter chocolate

So what should you do if you find that your four-legged friend has woofed down some Easter chocolate?

Our advice would be identify some important information before phoning the vets to help them assess the situation -

đŸ« Exactly what type of chocolate did they consume ? Ideally grab the wrapper with the ingredient list.

đŸ« How much did they consume ? - Are we talking one Cadburys Mini Egg or five bags of Mini Eggs ?

If your dog has recently eaten a potentially harmful dose of chocolate the vet is likely to make your dog vomit, but in more serious cases other treatments might be needed such as activated charcoal. Some dogs might also need intravenous fluids and monitoring.
