Our Itch Review

1. Itch : Essentials

Pet subscriptions are incredibly popular because they make life easier, with personalised, reliable deliveries right when you need them.

Since our dogs are family, we all want to give them the best health care without worrying about missed doses or a mad dash to the shops.

Itch’s subscription covers regular dog flea and worm treatments, plus other handy products like toothpaste, ear cleaner, healthy treats and even poo bags. Just fill out a quick quiz to get a plan tailored to your dog.

Letterbox friendly packaging from Itch Pet

Thanks to clever packaging, your order slips right through your letterbox, which is super convenient, with no need to hang around waiting for the postman!

Itch also offers cat products which could be useful in multi-pet households (but we don't know anything about cats so we'll leave it there!).

Itch Pet online questionnaire

By completing a short online quiz, Itch can tailor the product your receive to suit your dog.

You can stick to the basics or add in some extras, and you’re always in control, you can pause, cancel, or change your subscription whenever you want. Oh, and we forgot to mention delivery is free.

2. Itch : Spot-On Flea, Tick & Lice Treatment

Before we get into our thoughts on Itch Flea, let’s quickly run through the main types of flea and tick treatments out there. Choosing the right one really depends on your dog (and how cooperative they are!) -

  • Spot-on treatments: Those little liquid pipettes you squeeze onto the back of the neck. Fast-acting, effective against fleas (and often ticks), with some even stopping eggs and larvae in their tracks.

  • Oral tablets and chews: Work from the inside out, killing fleas quickly and often covering ticks and other nasties too. Brilliant in theory, less so if your dog has a radar for pills and spits them out.

  • Sprays and powders: Spritz-and-go options, zapping fleas the moment they make contact. The best bit? They don’t just tackle your dog, they tackle your home too. And since a whopping 95% of fleas are lurking in carpets, bedding, and sofas (not on your pup), treating your home alongside a spot‑on is a total game‑changer. That way you blitz the bugs and any sneaky eggs before they hatch. Itch also offer a spray for your home

We’ve spent years sneaking vet‑prescribed tablets into cubes of cheese, so when Itch offered simple spot-on treatments, we couldn’t wait to put them to the test.

A little flea fact for you: not all spot‑ons pack the same punch. Some only use Fipronil, which means they zap grown‑up fleas but leave eggs and larvae to carry on the party.

That’s where Itch steps up.

Their super‑easy spot‑on pipette for dogs is a double‑whammy formula. Fipronil takes down fleas on the spot, while (S)-Methoprene shuts down eggs and larvae before they hatch. Result? No cycle, no infestation, no itchy business.

Application couldn’t be easier. Snap open the pipette, part the fur at the back of your dog’s neck until you can see the skin, then squeeze it on. Done.

Honestly, it’s far less hassle than wrestling with tablets, and if you’re not confident, the packaging even has QR codes linking to step‑by‑step ‘How To’ videos.

Each treatment lasts four weeks, so it’s a monthly routine. And here’s the clever bit, with Itch’s subscription service, a fresh pack drops through your letterbox exactly when it’s time for the next dose.

No more buying three months’ worth from the vet and then forgetting to administer it (or is that just us?), this way, you stay on track without the nagging reminders. Seriously we think it's a game-changer for busy households.

It's worth remembering that flea protection isn’t just a summer job, these little jumpers are ready for action all year round! Fleas adore warm, cosy homes, which makes central heating their five-star resort. To keep them out, staying on top of treatments all year is a must. Consistency is your secret weapon against itchy invaders.

3. Itch : Wormer Treatment

If you’re after thorough parasite protection, adding Itch Wormer tablets to your subscription is a smart move. The blend of active ingredients targets both roundworms and tapeworms effectively, regular worming really is a must for your dog’s health.

Wormer for dogs

Because our dog is raw fed, we felt this extra worming step was essential. Raw diets can increase the risk of parasite exposure, since raw meat, especially if not frozen or handled properly, can carry worms and protozoa.

Itch Wormer comes as tablets you can easily hide in your dog’s favourite snack or crush and sprinkle over their food.

We prefer the second option because our dog is 'Goldilocks' level picky and we can mix the crushed tablet easily into raw food.

Dosage is tailored by bodyweight. If your dog’s dose is 1½ tablets, Itch sends two and you simply split one and discard the unused half. It's simple and practical plus if you forget the dosage is on the reverse of the packaging.

4. Itch : Costs

Let’s talk prices. Because every subscription is tailored to your dog, we recommend taking a couple of minutes to complete the online quiz for the most accurate monthly cost.

As a quick guide, flea treatment prices are:

⭐️ Small dog (up to 10kg) – £8.50 per month

⭐️ Medium dog (10–20kg) – £8.95 per month

⭐️ Large dog (20–40kg) – £9.50 per month

Plus don't forget the first month is free !

You can also add wormer treatments to your plan, available monthly or quarterly depending on your dog’s dosage needs. We like that Itch gives you the flexibility to choose exactly what your dog requires.

5. Itch : Customer Service

The Itch Vet Team are fully qualified experts in veterinary medicines and ready to support you every step of the way.

Need help? You can reach them by email, phone (yes, a real phone number staffed 8am–4pm Monday to Friday), or even WhatsApp chat, making it easy to get the support you need in the way that suits you best.

That's about it, save for the fact that we found their comprehensive FAQ section packed with handy answers for quick reference.

Our Verdict

The bottom line is that we think Itch’s personalised plans make it straightforward to keep your dog protected without the hassle of remembering when to treat.

The convenience of monthly letterbox deliveries really takes the stress out of staying on top of flea and worm treatments.

Their approach feels practical and well-informed, backed by expert knowledge that helps keep our dogs healthy without any fuss.

Beyond the core range, Itch also offers a solid range of extras like ear and teeth cleaning products, healthy treats, and even poo bags. We love this one-stop-shop approach

Overall, we think that Itch offers a reliable and sensible way to manage pet care, balancing convenience with quality and expert support.
