First Impressions

Out of the box, the machine felt well made and reassuringly lightweight, with a handy carry handle that makes it easy to move from room to room.

The long power lead and generous 158 cm hose stood out immediately, giving us plenty of freedom to work around Otis and reach awkward spots without constantly repositioning the unit.

Grooming Performance

This is the part that matters, and it is where the OneIsAll genuinely impressed us.

The suction is strong, and when a brush fills with hair a quick press of a button releases it straight into the vacuum rather than back onto the floor.

Both the grooming and deshedding brushes worked brilliantly on Otis’s thick double coat.

How much hair are we talking about?

We almost filled the 1.5 litre tank during our first grooming session alone. Seeing that much loose undercoat captured in the bin, rather than spread across the kitchen floor, was strangely satisfying and told us everything about how much Otis normally sheds around the house.

The deshedding tool is the star. It works in a very similar way to a Furminator, pulling loose undercoat out before it has the chance to end up on your carpet.

The difference is crucial: instead of fur collecting around the teeth and dropping onto the floor as you work, it is drawn directly into the vacuum. That single change is what turns grooming from a mess-making chore into a tidy one.

The ball-pin slicker style Grooming Brush reached deep into Otis’s coat for the finishing work, and throughout it all the room stayed remarkably clean.

No black cloud, no tumbleweeds gathering in the corners, and crucially no follow-up vacuum of the floor afterwards. Otis, for his part, settled quickly once we started and let him get used to the gentle hum.

The two remaining attachments push the machine beyond the dog itself.

The Crevice Tool made light work of the fur worked into Otis’s bed and the corners of the sofa, the places loose hair loves to migrate to between grooms, while the Cleaning Brush lifted fur from clothing without the endless re-rolling of a lint roller.

Being able to groom the dog and then tidy his favourite spots with the same machine, straight into the same bin, is a genuinely useful touch and one that quietly widens what the OneIsAll is good for.

Noise Levels

Let us be honest, most dogs rank the vacuum cleaner somewhere between the postman and bath time on the list of household villains, so noise matters more to buyers than raw suction ever does.

Here was the happy surprise: the OneIsAll is quiet. Genuinely quiet. On the lowest setting it hums along more like a modest household vac than a hair-raising heavy-duty machine, and it is far less nerve-jangling than a hair dryer, which most dogs treat as a personal insult.

Otis, who has strong opinions about anything that whirs, gave it a suspicious side-eye for all of thirty seconds before deciding it was not out to get him and going back to being a very good boy.

We would still start on the lowest setting and build up gently as your dog gets used to the sound, but for a nervous or noise-sensitive pup, that quiet low mode makes this far more usable than we expected.

No drama, no doggy disappearing act, no hiding behind the sofa.

Does It Really Reduce Dog Hair Around the House?

Yes, but only if you use it regularly, and here is how that plays out day to day...

Would we use it weekly? Yes, especially through moulting season, when a Labrador can carpet a room in a day. It has genuinely replaced the old routine of trekking outside to brush and then hoovering indoors anyway.

It saves cleaning rather than adds to it. Because the hair goes into the machine as you groom, there is no separate tidy-up afterwards, which is the whole point.

Storage is a doddle. It is light, it has a carry handle, and it tucks away without needing its own postcode, and setup, as we said, takes less time than it takes Otis to notice the treat drawer has opened.

On value, here is our honest take: for a heavy shedder it earns its keep faster than you would think, quietly clawing back all those minutes you would otherwise spend chasing fur off the floors, the sofa and your good black jumper.

Think of it as an investment in a tidier home rather than yet another hopeful gadget destined to gather dust at the back of a cupboard, wedged between the smoothie maker and the abs roller you swore you would use.

Maintenance is mercifully low-effort too. The wide-mouthed bin tips out cleanly with no puff of escaping fur, the brushes pull apart for the occasional rinse, and there are no bags or filters forever nagging to be replaced, so once you have bought it, the running cost is close to nothing.

After a few weeks it had slotted into our routine as naturally as reaching for the lead before a walk, and frankly, Otis now treats grooming day as less of an ordeal and more of a spa session.

Our only real wish is a cordless version, which would make it even more convenient to grab for a quick five-minute deshed.

During testing with Otis it captured an astonishing amount of loose undercoat, kept indoor grooming remarkably tidy, and was quiet enough not to unsettle him.
