Our Picks of Personalised Dog Gifts

1. Custom Pet Portrait Hoodie

Best for proud pup parents

photograph: woof inc

Pop your pup's portrait on a hoodie and watch the dog lover in your life light up. Birthday, Mother's Day, Father's Day, or just because, this is the kind of gift that gets a proper reaction.

Founder Charli launched Woof Inc from her studio in Bolton back in 2020, working alongside her graphic designer brother. Five years and 10,000+ happy customers later, the Custom Pet Portrait Hoodie is their bestseller, and it's easy to see why.

Pick from 12 on-trend dusty colours (think Mocha Brown, Earth Green, Dusty Pink and Baby Blue) across six unisex sizes, with a clear online size guide.

Place your order, email a clear photo of your pup and Woof Inc work their magic. Got more than one furry favourite? No extra charge for up to three pets on the same hoodie.

Not a hoodie person? The same custom artwork is available on sweatshirts, tees and tote bags, plus a kids' range (ages 3 to 13) for a match-with-your-mini-me moment.

Made to order in the UK, dispatched within 5 to 7 working days. Machine-washable at 30 degrees, no tumble drying (that print needs treating with care).

From £35.

2. Personalised Dog Mug

Best for morning cuppas

photograph: dogsy

A personalised dog mug makes morning brews that bit more bearable, and Dogsy do them properly.

Their Royal Portraits collection turns your pup's photo into a regal masterpiece. Pick from The Admiral, The General, The Soldier, The Gentleman or The Royal Guy, each a cheeky riff on a classic royal portrait, with your dog's face front and centre.

We're particularly fond of The Admiral. Naval cap, gold braid, very serious expression. Tail probably wagging.

Not into the regal look? Dogsy's wider mug range covers cartoon-style portraits, face mash mugs (chuck multiple photos in for a fun mash-up), and even a colour-changing version that magically reveals your dog's face the moment a hot drink hits it.

Each one is a premium 10oz white ceramic mug, printed front and back, dishwasher and microwave safe (no hand-washing fuss, the photo stays sharp for years). Designed in the UK.

Upload a high-quality photo, pick your style, and you've got the best personalised dog mug going for that first cuppa of the day.

3. Dog Lead Crafting Kit

Best for crafty types

photograph: rocky's pet products

Rocky’s Pet Products presents a charming collection of dog lead and collar crafting kits. There’s something uniquely rewarding about creating a collar and lead just for your own dog. Personalised, fun, and thoughtful, these kits make a perfect gift for any dog lover.

Available in a vibrant array of colours, the kits also let you craft matching collars and friendship bracelets, how adorable!

photograph: smartbark

We tested the braided dog lead kit and loved it. Everything you need comes in the pack. Beginners can pick it up easily, thanks to a clear YouTube tutorial, but it's worth mentioning that there are no written instructions included.

Once you master the braiding technique, progress is speedy. The whole project could be completed in 2-3 hours, or you can tackle it in shorter bursts (just mark your place so you don’t lose your groove).

The process is a little repetitive, so seasoned crafters might fancy a more challenging project. It would, however, make a fantastic crafting adventure for older children.

photograph: smartbark

The final lead is strong, sturdy, and surprisingly substantial. Made from recycled high quality recycled cotton cord. The clasp made from recyclable zinc alloy is robust, though perhaps a touch large for tiny breeds. The lead has just enough stretch to act as a clever shock absorber for pullers.

The 1.2 m leads and collars are available separately in a range of 5 stunning colours to suit every style.

That's about it, save for the fact that Rocky's Pet Products recommend their kits for dogs up to 20 kilograms, so small to medium dogs only.

Once you've crafted the lead, you'll want everything else to match. Our dog walking essentials guide covers harnesses, poo bags, treat pouches and more. For ready-made alternatives, see our pick of the best dog leads.

photograph: smartbark (model : freddie)

Forget plain old feeding bowls, this one's got their name on it. Literally.

Pretty Perfect Gifts are a small, family-run UK studio crafting personalised ceramics with serious style.

Their Paw Personalised Ceramic Dog Bowl pairs a clean, modern paw print design with your dog's name, hand-finished in their studio.

The smooth glazed ceramic is dishwasher and microwave safe, and feels properly weighty, no more bowl-skidding-across-the-kitchen-floor at suppertime.

We loved its clean, simple lines right away and even after a few washes, the colours stayed nice and bold. It has a reassuring weight to it, so it stays put when in use. A stylish, pared-back piece that looks right at home in any kitchen.

Prices start from £14.95, which is properly reasonable for a handmade ceramic piece with personalisation included.

6. Custom Paint-by-Numbers Kit

Best for painting your pup

photograph: smart bark

Fancy turning your favourite four-legged friend into a proper piece of art?

Paint A Moment’s custom kit lets you paint your own pooch from a photo, and we put it properly through its paces.

Ordering is fuss-free and fast: pick your size, choose whether you’d like a frame, and settle on how detailed you fancy going (24, 36 or 48 colours), then send over your favourite snap.

Every kit is handily labelled beginner, intermediate or advanced, with advanced using more shades for the most lifelike results, and there’s a lovely line of off-the-shelf designs too.

Ours padded onto the doormat in around a week, packed with paints aplenty and everything needed to get cracking, frame included.

The painting itself is brilliantly relaxing, and after roughly ten happy hours you’ll have something truly personal to hang on the wall.

Two tester tips: pick a simpler, clearer photo, as fine detail makes the numbers titchy, and keener painters may want to swap in their own brushes.

The verdict: a beautiful, bespoke and brilliantly personal present for dog lovers who enjoy a creative challenge. We’d happily buy again.

The result is roughly 6cm of pure pocket-sized charm, complete with safety eyes, a safety nose and a slight 3D relief that gives the features proper character. Want their name on the keyring too? Add it for £2.50.

Best for long walks

photograph: dogsy

Long walks. Big thirst. Tiny patience. Dogsy's personalised water bottle solves the lot.

Bottle and bowl in one, this clever 550ml hybrid clicks open to fill the attached bowl, then clicks back the other way to send any leftover water straight back into the bottle. No waste, no spills, no soggy pockets.

It's eco-friendly, food-safe, waterproof and leakproof, with a lockable button so it won't pop open at the bottom of your backpack. The 550ml capacity suits most days out, and it's compact enough to slip into a treat bag or backpack pocket.

Available in two colours (a clean white or a gorgeous marine splash blue) and personalised with your four-legged friend's name, so there's no mix-up at the dog park water station.

FAQs

What's the best personalised dog gift to buy in the UK?

The best personalised dog gift depends on who you're buying for. For the dog parent, a custom pet portrait hoodie or personalised mug usually wins. For the dog themselves, a personalised ceramic bowl, treat tin or tweed bone toy makes a thoughtful, name-on-it keepsake. Our Top 10 above covers picks for every recipient and budget, all from small UK businesses.

How long do personalised dog presents take to arrive?

Most personalised dog gifts and presents are made to order, so expect 5 to 10 working days for design and dispatch. Premium handmade items like crocheted keyrings and bespoke hoodies can take longer, particularly during peak gifting seasons. If you're up against a deadline, look for makers who offer gift certificates that arrive instantly.

What's a good personalised gift for a dog mum or dog dad?

For dog mums and dog dads, the gift is often more about the human than the dog. Custom pet portrait hoodies, personalised photo mugs and crocheted dog face keyrings all let proud dog parents carry a piece of their pup with them. Our Dog Mum Gift Guide has dozens more ideas.

Are personalised dog gifts worth the money?

Personalised dog gifts typically cost between £15 and £50, a little more than off-the-shelf alternatives. The premium covers handmade personalisation, often by small UK businesses, plus the emotional value of a one-of-a-kind item that can't be bought anywhere else. For a thoughtful gift that lasts, they're well worth the few extra pounds.

Are personalised ceramic dog bowls dishwasher safe?

Most personalised ceramic dog bowls from UK makers are dishwasher and microwave safe, thanks to high-quality print processes designed to last through daily use. Always check the individual maker's care guidance, but you shouldn't have to hand-wash a quality personalised bowl.

What's a good personalised gift for a new puppy?

New puppy gifts work best when they're practical as well as personal. Personalised treat tins for training, name-embroidered beds, custom dog tags and personalised water bottles all double up as everyday essentials. A personalised ceramic bowl is a particular favourite for first-bowl moments.

That's a wrap on personalised dog gifts. Hopefully something here landed with a smile. Whoever you're shopping for, happy gifting.
